Arterial Indications

Arterien2 The intermittent vacuum therapy (-IVT-) with the Vacumed ® -device is designed  for the treatment of arterial circulatory disorders in the lower extremities and for the therapy of peripheral artery occlusive diseases (PAOD / PAD) in stages I, II and III.

Furthermore, Vacumed ® is used for pain-free vascular training (passive gymnastics). Patients obtain a significantly quicker improvement of the walking distance without pain (Schink 2007).

The Vacumed ® -device also achieves positive results with patients with the Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS) and with arteriosclerotic erectile dysfunction (ED)

The device is also used for critical ischemia (hibernating gangrene) and for the prevention of amputations and disablement.

The Vacumed ® is particularly suitable for practice-based angiologists, diabetic centres and vascular centres in clinics as well as in hospitals.  Due to the fact that vascular diseases account for one of the highest costs centres in the health system,  the angiological prevention is gaining more and more importance. In this context practice-based internists should participate (see getABI Study below) .
